The Probability Of Violet and Luke - Jessica Sorensen (The Coincidence #4)

    Rating: 4/5 Stars
    Recommend: yes!

SynopsisLuke Price and Violet Hayes haven’t seen each other in a couple of months, not since they discovered Luke’s mother’s connection to Violet’s parent’s murders. But when Luke gets into some gambling trouble with the wrong people, destiny decides to throw the two of them together and they head out to Vegas to try and settle Luke’s debt.
As Violet spends time with Luke, she becomes torn on whether she should be with him. She definitely can’t deny that her life is better when she’s with Luke and she starts to wonder if going back to Preston was a mistake.
Things seem to be going well as Violet opens up more to Luke, but then she gets a call from the detective, not only to give an update on Mira Price and the case, but to give information about some threatening texts she’s been getting. The information is not only shocking, but makes Violet question what kind of people her parents really where and whether she’ll be able to trust anyone ever again.

Review: Probability is the 4th book in the coincidence series and the 2nd one to have the main characters be Violet and Luke. I was looking SO forward to this book after the massive cliffhanger The Destiny Of Violet and Luke left us with. This book picks up four months after the big secret is revealed, Luke is back to his heavy drinking and gambling and Violet has returned to living with Preston and selling drugs. Violet and Luke are miserable without eachother, which is no surprise considering they're soulmates (shhhh it's the truth, don't argue). Destiny of course brings them together one night and Luke gets himself in some serious trouble, serious enough that he has to leave town and Violet decides to tag along. It's while out of town that both try to rationalize the pros and cons of getting back together and if love can actually be enough.

What I liked: Violet and Luke's commentary on the relationship has always been something I loved about them. Luke is head over heels for Violet and Violet feels the same but is much more reluctant to admit it after everything that happened. I absolutely ADORED Luke's cousin Ryler and I am so incredibly happy that book seven in the series is about him. The twist at the end was something I was absolutely not expecting and I cannot wait to read the final book in the Luke and Violet story to see how it all plays out.

What I didn't like: I found this book to have no real purpose except to get Luke and Violet back together, it felt more like a filler than an actual continuation. The novel was also more like novella sized than novel sized and that both irked me and made me glad because it got to the twist faster. Violet (as always) had to over analyze things and was so stuck in the past that she couldn't see that Luke was right in front of her and he didn't care about her past. I understand how Violet Is messed up and such but she can't seem to breakout of that goddamn box her past threw her into, my hope is she'll finally be at peace in the final installment. The lack of Callie, Kayden, Seth and Greyson sucked because in the previous three books I loved seeing the secondary characters and seeing those friendships grow in relation to the romantic ones that were blooming. My number one and two complaints in this book should come as no surprise, they were Preston and Luke's uncle Cole. Preston just sucks I hate him so much, but he is written to be the villian so if I didn't hate him it would be a problem. Cole was so reckless and had no concern for Luke, Violet or his son and that really made me mad, he was like a child in the body if a thirty year old man.
